Geocache Description:

So, I was thinking about different types of challenges and one stat that I found interesting on www.mygeocachingprofile.com was "Total Distance Between Caches (in straight lines)."

***THE CACHE IS AT THE LISTED COORDINATES AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE ANYTHING TO FIND OR LOG THIS CACHE. ORIGINALLY, IT WAS GOING TO BE A CHALLENGE CACHE BUT ACCORDING TO ITEM #2 AT (visit link) you cannot post a cache which requires a user to create an account at that website which is not permitted by the guidelines. SO, IT IS NOW A TRADITIONAL CACHE.***

In order to complete the COMPLETELY optional challenge, use www.mygeocachingprofile.com to upload your "my finds.gpx" file.

Then about a third of the way down the page, you'll see: "Total Distance Between Caches (in straight lines)" I attached a screen shot of what to look for. At the time of this cache's publication, I have traveled 20,468.7 miles (and that was only in 6 different states in the southeast)

If you have traveled over 24,901.55 miles, you qualify to claim the cache as found. If you don't you can still claim the cache as found!

The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 kilometers).

But, if you measure the earth through the poles the circumference is a bit shorter - 24,859.82 miles (40,008 km). This the earth is a tad wider than it is tall, giving it a slight bulge at the equator. This shape is known as an ellipsoid or more properly, geoid (earth-like).
