Got cabin fever? Longing to get outside and do
some geocaching? Join us for some fun, food, and
friends.
What:Potluck Lunch
Where:Horseshoe Falls Lodge at Pinicon
Ridge Park
When:Saturday, January 28th, 2012. Lodge
opens at 10:30 AM. Lunch and door prizes around noon. Lodge closes
by 4:00 PM.
Note the change in location this year. The
Horseshoe Falls lodge is 0.3 mile SSE of the lodge used in past
years. It is a heated facility with refrigerator, sink, stove,
oven, and restrooms. The hosts will provide beef stew, paper bowls,
plates, napkins, and table service. Please bring a side dish or
dessert to share, and your own beverage. The sledding hill is not
far away, so bring a sled or toboggan if you like.
Try the winter picnic challenge.
1. Get a challenge card at the lodge (after 10:30 AM).
2. Find the four caches (within walking distance of the lodge). At
each one get a puzzle piece and perform the simple “challenge
task”.
3. Hand the four puzzle pieces to dazedandconfused (Marge or Frank)
to get a prize.
In the event of extreme weather, we will
post a cancellation note here by 8:00 AM the day of the
event.
We’re looking forward to seeing our geocaching friends and
meeting new ones. Winter in Iowa CAN be fun!
