The Good Life #5 The Guru of Surbiton Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

foxscout: I have dithered about what to do with these for a while now.

I love the hide for number one and two and they both still get lots of visitors.

But number three and four...if I hid them now, this isn't how or where I would place them...

I have tried to think what else I could do with them and after a few weeks thinking I have decided to archive them and free the space up for others.

Thank you to everyone who has visited these caches and for all the lovely logs.

Geocache Description:

The Good Life #5 The Guru of Surbiton.

A series of caches inspired by the 1970's sitcom The Good Life.

Margo and Jerry return from Amsterdam to discover that Tom and Barbara have two earnest University students called Guy and Ruth staying for the week to help out in the garden.

Each cache is placed near allotment sites in and around Colchester. There are 17 allotment sites in Colchester with approx 800 plots. These are Sheepen Road allotments. Archaeological evidence has been found in this area from the Late Iron Age and Roman periods. Including Roman pottery and building material.

The allotments are close to the important Late Iron Age and early Roman Settlement known as Sheepen. A late 1st century temple was found nearby in 1935 on the site of nearby St Helena School. The outer wall of the temple precinct lies underneath Sheepen Road.

On the back of each log is a number that you will need to collect to find the bonus.

Please make sure the cache is well hidden. You will need a pen and tweezers might be useful.

Parking is available nearby, see parking co-ordinates.
