Geocache Description:

I enjoyed putting this cache together. It looks like it might be fun and I hope you enjoy it. FTF gets a very worn “Where’s George” dollar bill to register and track on http://www.wheresgeorge.com/ and spend.

This cache is to honor our vets and to talk about the origin of a common phrase we often use. I am certain the phrase, "The Whole Nine Yards", originated in W.W.II. The heavy bombers and fighter aircraft had 27 foot ammunition belts and it became a common phrase to say that a pilot or gunner "gave 'em the whole nine yards" when they had run out of ammunition. I’m quite sure there are other stories on the origin of this phrase but this is the one I wanted to focus on. If you know of other interesting meanings for this phrase I would like to hear them. You will find easy and safe parking. Some stealth may be required as there are some muggers walking and biking about along with the sprits of the thousands of soldiers who served here in years past. This should be easy to locate but the actual container will be a little out of reach and a little geo-sense will go a LONG way. This is a small to medium size container that will hold small TB’s and some knick-knacks and trinkets. ERROR, ERROR, ERROR !!! Just For Fun (JFF) Earn a "BIG smilie ". There is an error in this cache for you to find and earn a BIG smilie" if you find it. DO NOT post your answer in your log for all to see. Instead, send me an email with the correct information that you found and if you are correct, I’ll post your "BIG smilie" as a “write note” in the log. Good luck. Please enjoy your visit to Camp Adair and be safe.
