Geocache Description:

You are looking for a magnetic nano with log only.

When my Grandfather, Jim Grimley, move to Waynesboro in 1945, there was no Catholic Church. Consequently, he and the other members of the Catholic community in Waynesboro had to drive to Laurel for Sunday services. They would also attend church in Waynesboro in various locations, including the old Freeman’s Funeral Home building. My Grandfather was instrumental in obtaining the land and house that existed on the property. Services were held in the house until he and several others could build the church that exists today. For his efforts in establishing and building St Bernadette’s Catholic Church, he was honored by Pope Paul VI in 1977. During the late 1980’s, my Father, Joe Grimley, built the church Hall, which includes a full kitchen, class rooms, and large gathering area. My Grandfather did many other things for the people of Waynesboro. He started the first pee-wee football team and helped organize Little League Baseball. He also organized the first track meet. My Grandfather loved golf, so he took steps to build a golf course in Waynesboro and actually designed the first two holes. He was granted a life time membership in 1992. He was laid to rest at Serenity Gardens on August 17, 1999, a cemetery that he and my father own.
