Geocache Description:

As of the 1st of December 2012 the borads have been removed. Cache still avalible.

Ok I believe that every town needs these information bays marked for travelers to town. This is also a good spot to stop if you have just landed in town. First as an easy find and second to help you work out the where why what and how of where you are going.

Now this bay I think is a little out dated and so I ask the locals who visit this site please add in your log a little bit of tourist info that you think could be of interest to others.

Pull up a little short of info board and cross the gully you should be just out of view of those passing by on the both roads.

1-Visit the Salamanca Markets Every Saturday from 8:30am to 3:00pm at Hobart's Salamanca Place.

2-Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens open 365 days a year from 8 am - 5 pm with longer hours in summer.

3-Rotor-Lift Aviation, offering scenic flights around Hobart and beyond.

4-Mount Nelson Signal Station - Plenty of history to be had, great views of Hobart and down the Derwent River.

5-Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery are well worth a look. They have pushbikes with very comfy seats you can hire for a day for free to ride around Hobart as well. Located at 40 Macquarie St, Hobart.

6-Mt Wellington and would feel compelled to walk (or ride, now) at least one of the many tracks that criss-cross its slopes and top. If the walk wasn't possible the drive to the top would be essential to take in the grandstand views

7-a. Ride the North/South mountain bike track from The Springs to at least Junction Cabin.
b. Take a picnic to the Botanical Gardens and sit on the lawns and enjoy the views.

8-Archery. Arrogone Archers offer groups coaching sessions on Saturday mornings between 10am & 12pm, bring a friend or come alone. Session for small numbers available other times as well by appointment (0418 451 950).
