Geocache Description:

A cache hidden in Fortier Park in beautiful Olmsted Falls. Park hours are 6:00am to sunset.

This beautiful area contains the remains of two sandstone quarries that operated here in the 1870's. The other one operated across the river at what is now East River Park. A railroad siding near Lewis Road serviced the quarries on both sides of the river. During your visit, note the old rail remnants sticking out from the quarry spoils.

The quarry is just a short walk from the Olmsted Falls Public Library. Park near the old covered bridge. The "direct approach" to the cache may be a bit challenging, but if you take the trail around the bend, the approach is much easier.

Oh, and one more thing. Please bring a flashlight with you. You'll need it!
