Geocache Description:

I was surprised to see that there were no caches in this area which has so much history associated so decided to do something about it.

The co-ordinates given indicate a possible parking place although the walk from Matfen itself would be pleasant. Please park thoughtfully here. You can also park at the place indicated below but this will mean you won't see the medieval village. To find the cache location you will need to solve a little puzzle beforehand. Make a 3 by 3 grid, label the columns H T and U and the rows 1 2 and 3 then fill in the numbers 1 to 9 so that the row 2 number is twice, and the row 3 number is three times the row 1 number. The cache is hidden at: N 55 02.0U1H3 W 001 55.U2H1U1 You need to know that there are four ways of arranging the grid so you will need to use your geocaching skills to decide which one I have used.
