Geocache Description:

The eleventh of a series of caches along HWY 89 South of Meyers. The cache is a small, camo'd container. Park in the pull out and watch for traffic. Cache may be hard to access in the winter.

Johannes Kepler is better known as an astronomer than a mathematician, but his contributions to mathematics were still important. Kepler's laws of planetary motion describe the paths of orbiting bodies. For example, Kepler showed that the Earth orbits the sun in an elliptical path with the sun at a focus of the ellipse. He also did work on the sphere packing problem (one of my favorites) and was the first to describe the hexagonal symmetry of snowflakes.
