Geocache Description:

The twelfth of a series of caches along HWY 89 South of Meyers. The cache is a small, camo'd container. Park in the pull out and watch for traffic. Cache may be hard to access in the winter.

Gottfried Leibniz "invented" Calculus at the same time that Isaac Newton did. Their individual approaches have given us notation and ideas we still use today. At the time, there was much debate about who first came up with the idea. Things got so bad that mathematical communication between the European continent and the British Isles ceased. It is now generally accepted that neither man stole from the other. Leibniz was a good sport about the whole thing. He said of Newton: "Taking mathematics from the beginning of the world to the time when Newton lived, what he did was much the better half." Leibniz also delved into Topology, and much of fractal geometry was built upon his ideas.
