Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache where you will need to fold an origami model to discover the actual location.

PLEASE NOTE THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. READ BELOW FOR DETAILS. I've had this idea for some time and finally sat down to work out the logistics. Depending on the interest I can make other similar caches with more (or less) complex models. Origami (from ori meaning "folding", and gami meaning "paper") is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. You will start with a single piece of paper (attached diagram) and fold the creases to make an origami pagoda. This is a traditional diagram incorporating some very basic folds but since many people are new to the art I gave it a difficulty of 3. Print the attached crease pattern with numbers. Feel free to enlarge to make it easier but try to maintain the dimensions of the image (as a square); it will make it worlds easier to fold then if it gets distorted. Once you have completed the model the coordinates should read left to right with the longitude on one side and the latitude on the other. There are many other numbers on the diagram that if folded correctly will be either hidden or facing the wrong direction making it obvious they are not part of the coordinates. If you enjoyed this activity you can use various sized pieces of paper to create a several story pagoda. I am including a 10 stage (story) origami pagoda for the FTF. Suggestions and recommendations are always appreciated. Enjoy!
