a fairly easy little cache that requires a short walk
Hi and welcome to the Elephant Rock! Locals (and not so locals) have been coming here for years to paint up the two rocks to look like an elephant. People leave birthday messages, congratulations and I even saw a marriage proposal on here once!!! It's been going on so long, I would love to chip away at the layers of paint and see how deep they go :D So come on down for a drive and check out Dewey :) The cache is a small Sistema hidden away from the car park and rock so you should be quite safe from Muggles, local horse riders use this track tho so be aware of them and please give them right of way. Also, please be very careful of snakes. I did not see any when this cache was placed but you can never be too careful. Watch your footing, the ground here is pretty much always soft. There is a make-shift horse track around the rubble pile so you don't have to climb it to get to the cache. PLEASE do not park on the side of the road, there is plenty of safe parking by the rocks. 17/2/2020 - Didn't want to see this one disappear so we have adopted it, moved it by about 30 metres as the landscape has changed. It is now one of the large Pill containers given out at the St Arnaud Mega.
