Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of themed caches located on MDC Conservation land. Permission for placement has been granted by the MDC Forester in charge of the area, Frances Main. There is a "trail closed' sign near the walk in point. This sign has been placed for horseback riders. We have been given permission to be in that area.

As you enter the walk in point follow the trail toward the right. The trail will take you directly to GZ. A short hike. As you round the bend and go down a wee bit of a hill you will notice the Circle of Elders I speak of. In my journeys I have often pondered the age of these Elders and the history that has walked beneath and between them. They are the oldest ones I've seen in this neck of the woods so far. That wee bit of a hill will seem a bit more significant on the way back up.

You are looking for an ammo can here.

When I think.......Elders.... I think of our greatest historians and storytellers.

It is here that I will say that the Beasties in this Wood have been around for centuries. Some of the oldest cultures in the world have made mention of them in their myths and legends. Their stories have tickled the imaginations of a great many and very different kinds of peoples around the world and throughout history. From the Sumerians, and the Babylonians to the Greeks, Chinese, Turks, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Siberians, Lithuanians....the list is lengthy and getting lengthier.
