Gran eller rödgran (Picea abies) är ett barrträd i gransläktet och familjen tallväxter. Granen kan uppnå 60 meters höjd och en ålder av över 400 år. I södra och mellersta Sverige blir den dock sällan över 200 år, men avverkas vanligen långt tidigare. Man har nu hittat granar på Fulufjället med rotsystem upp till ca 9500 år enligt tester, vilket skulle gör dessa till världens äldsta kända organsimer.

Spruce or rödgran (Picea abies) is a coniferous tree in the genus and family pine plants. The Christmas tree can reach 60 meters and an age exceeding 400 years. In southern and central Sweden will be the seldom more than 200 years, but usually is harvested much earlier. We have now found firs on Fulufjället with root systems up to about 9500 years according to the test, which would make them the world's oldest known organsimer.
