This
is the thirty-third cache in my finite mathematical series. I am a
math teacher by day. I thought a cache series dedicated to math
would be a good way to educate the
public.
Trigonometry is the study of right triangles and the
relationships between their sides and angles. It evolved in the
third century BC and is a branch of geometry. Trigonometry has had
a major impact in two everyday areas. First it has helped us map
the world and easily navigate between any two points. That's right
without math there would be no way to navigate precisely which
means no Geocaching. The second area that has greatly benefited is
sound. Trig has helped us really understand how sound works. Sound
travels in a wave, but these waves are all variations of the sine
wave from trig. So that catchy song you just heard on the radio,
you can thank math. Being able to call someone a thousand miles
away, thank math.
