The Herbert Railway Station was constructed in the 1870's, and was also the local Post and Telegraph office. It was a wooden building, with a ladies' waiting-room, public lobby, ticket office and stationmaster's room, and a public vestibule for postal purposes. There was a large asphalt passenger platform, and also a convenient goods-shed. The stationmaster, Mr. A. Beekman, was assisted by a cadet.
The cache a 400ml sistema container is placed near the old station.
