This 39 acre park with rolling terrain features a large pavilion for group functions, picnic areas, playground for children, restrooms, a rainwater harvest system, and a nice trail network in the wooded areas. This park also features an eighteen basket disc golf course among the trails in the wooded area.

John Burge Park at Shadow Lakes is named for a man who first served on the Conroe Parks & Recreation Advisory Board when the department had just four parks and three employees. The City of Conroe now has 26 parks throughout the community.
John Burge, a career banker, has been active in community affairs, community service organizations, and has been a civic leader since moving to Conroe in 1963. Having this park named after John Burge is a well-deserved honor for a man who has given so much back to the community.
