Cronton Cross Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A medieval cross shaft located on the corner of Hall Lane and Smithy Lane, Cronton.
The cross itself is known to have been missing for in excess of a 100 years, and was originally sited opposite Cronton Hall.
It's likely this was a stopping off place, or weeping stone, where the funeral processions would stop to rest, on their way to Farnworth Chapel.
This is a drive by nano so please bring something to write with.
