Geocache Description:

The first in a series of three caches to help you explore Marylands woods, nature reserve, and Plumberow Mount with views over the river Crouch to Brandy Hole and South Woodham Ferrers.
This walk can be VERY muddy and slippery - wellies are strongly advised.
Well done to Lennyemmy and PuReWaRRioR69 for a well deserved FTF on this one.

Park at Woodstock Crescent or for a longer walk park behind Hockley Library and follow footpath 13 from between the chip shop and the kitchen showroom on Spa Road.
Follow the path down to the train line (often muddy and slippy). Cross with extreme caution using the crossing point and taking note of the safety notices (not forgetting to wave at the train driver if any trains pass by).
Look right and Hockley Station is visible. Further down the line in this direction is the newly opened Southend Airport Station. Southend Airport was opened during the Second World War as an RAF base, and will be expanding Summer 2012 to offer passenger flights to Europe.
Once you have crossed the line safely, climb the opposite bank and at the top pass through the gate and take the path to the left, through the woods. The cache is a small film cannister sized pot and is virtually on the path. Note: GPS might struggle in the woods.
