This cache is in a square Rubbermaid container painted green and brown. It blends in very well and you’ll have to look directly at it to see it.
Finding this cache will take you to a really nice little known beach just North of the Umpqua River. You’ll need to travel on a gravel road that’s not well maintained. Although you can make it in a car, a pickup or SUV would be much better. The cache is within a quarter mile of the parking area.
This would be a great spot if you have a 4-wheel drive as you can drive on the beach here. You’ll need an ATV sticker and a flag, however.
This area is popular with ATVs and they tend to roar around the dunes quite fast. It would be a good idea to stay off of obvious ATV trails when exploring the dunes on foot as an ATV can come over a dune at any time and they’re not expecting pedestrians.
Stay away from logs in or near the water. Every year several are killed in Oregon when an unexpected wave moves a log.
