The Crossgates Community Garden has been created by the Greenfingers Volunteer Group on a piece of land donated by the local Masonic Lodge.
The Gardens which were officially opened by Lord Elgin on June 25th 2010 are regularly used by the local primary and secondary schools for lessons on ecology and as a safe outdoor area for seasonal activities like Christmas and Easter pageants. The garden is on the site of a former Hairdressers shop owned by William Duncan a past Master of the Lodge. He had intended to build a house there but this proved difficult. He sadly died at a relatively young age. A quick cache & dash although it is well worth a look around this community garden. You will need to bring a pen/pencil. Beware of muggles. hence the difficulty level because of high muggle content. Easily accessable from a wheelchair. This cache meets the Urban Placement Guidelines
