Resting place Traditional Cache
MAPAsearching: I placed a cache near this one in the woods. It will be more of a challenge to get to and to find. They just recently replaced the damaged bench but I am doing the new area.

This is another beautiful Mooresville park. It has several walking trails with woods nearby, clean bathrooms, water fountains, jungle gym for the kids and picnic tables. I did several waypoints to show some interesting items as you walk the trail.
At N35 degrees 36.667, W80 degrees 50.656 is a viewpoint for one of the largest poison ivy vines I have seen in the woods. You can access it from the trail and not get near it. I think it is about 7 or 8 inches in diameter, although I did not touch it to measure it. The one part of the vine hangs down low enough for observation. The vine is in a very large pine tree. The poison ivy vine is very “hairy,” has 3 leaves and carries small berries on it in the spring. Leaves are green in the summer, turning red, orange or yellow in the fall before falling off for the winter. Rubbing or brushing up against any part of the leaves or vine can severe skin dermatitis with redness and in some cases bubbles that turn into large open wounds. You can get the rash from the vines even in the winter time when it does not have leaves. Many times people get severe cases from the smoke if they are burning the vines.
At N35 degrees 36.628, W80 degrees 80.711 is a very large oak tree. At different times of the day it will provide shade for you as you rest at this spot.
