Raules Gully
A Scenic Reserve maintained by the Department of Conservation. I spent many months here in the 1980's clearing the gully of Willows and Oregon's. A losing battle I fear. Wild strawberries can be found on the steep slopes of the lower parts of the gully. We often saw a native New Zealand falcon (falco novaeseelandiae) gliding over the valley and I believe some species of native fish inhabits the waters of this gully. On a clear day you can see the Port Hills from this point.
A shingle road but well maintained and used.
