Geocache Description:

Please join us for a CITO cleanup event at Jonathan Dickinson State Park on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 9AM.

If you attended the CITO after CP7 you got to see plenty of periwinkles and rattlebox, both of which are invasive species at JDSP. We helped the park by pulling lots of them north of Hobe Mountain. While doing some caching at the park, I came across a large amount of perriwinkles and some rattlebox - far more than I could pull myself. So lets pitch in again and help remove these plants!

We will assemble at the posted coordinates to sign in and get a briefing from a park ranger before dividing up to pull lots of periwinkles and rip out any rattleboxes we see. Our likely areas of attack will be near Pine Grove Pavilion and along the Old Dixie paved trails. If you see any trash then pick that up too.

The park will provide trash bags. You can bring gloves if you want, but they shouldn't be necessary - neither plant has thorns and both pull out of the ground easily.

After the CITO you can spend the rest of the day in the park finding some of the many caches located within!
