Welcome to the Planes, Trains & Automobiles Series
You are caching the Automobiles section of the series.


From the day someone dreamed of a Horseless carriage to the muscle cars we raced as kids, all the way to the 200Mph concept cars we’ll see in our future, we love our cars. And what better way to cache this series than in your favorite car.
Cachers, start your engines!
This series is in three sections. If you start at the Puzzle cache GC39040 you can go:
• South to the Planes leg of the series; (which loops back to the Puzzle cache)
• East to the Trains leg of the series (which also loops back to the Puzzle cache)
• or West to the Automobiles series, which ends About 2 miles from Highway 395.


- These caches are place on a series of dirt roads in the desert. The roads are pretty hard packed; we took our 2W drive truck and had no problems with the terrain – but use your best judgment.
- This is the desert, it can get hot in the summer – take plenty of water.
- There is a lot of ‘scratchy’ brush where some of the caches are placed – gloves would be a good idea.
- Watch out of the desert wildlife: There are all sorts of reptiles. We didn’t see any while placing the caches, but did see their homes. Use caution.
- Along the Plane series there are Desert turtles. You’ll see the 2’ tall fences to protect them, and long tubes under the road so they can cross, be respectful of their home.
