Just off the river bike/hike path. Best parking is in the Tucson Mall lot east of American Home Furnishings. The first part of this cache is a micro with a log and directions to the other part: "Brace Yourself." Be prepared for a half mile hike along the path.
Old time Tucsonans remember the Wetmore Swimming Pool. It was located a little east of here near first ave. The Wetmore Swimming Pool was the largest pool I've ever seen, Three diving boards and a high metal slide. At the time it was in operation, the river ran year around with clear water. There were picnic areas all along the river. Our parents would drop off the kids at the pool and go picnic. As a kid, I couldn't understand why the grown ups would rather picnic by the stream when when there was this great pool they could swim in. These old eucalyptus trees are all that remain of the area.
