This is a kayak/canoe cache on the Mokelumne River.
Numerous dead trees in the river in this area prevent approach to this point by all up the smallest motorboats from down river. But kayaks and canoes will have no problem reaching here. However, at this point a tree stretches nearly completely across the river. Kayaks and canoes will easily fit through the 5 foot gap at the bank. Motorboats will that get this far can get the cache if the water level permits. But they won't get any farther up river.
