Geocache Description:

This is a kayak/canoe cache on the "River of the Fish Net People" (now known as the Mokelumne).

The Unizumne was among the important landholding tribes of the Plains Miwok at the time of Spanish colonization in California. They lived at the confluence of the Cosumnes and Mokelumne rivers.

The coordinates take you to the long abandoned ceremonial Tea Tower. To find the the cache, seek another part of the old village 91 yards down river. Stay in your boat and look near the crossbeams.
