Highlands, NJ known for it's seafood, Twin Lights Lighthouse, and the gateway for all the Northern beach goers to enter the shore area, also holds the honor of being the spot on which Henry Hudson filled his water stores up on his way up the river. It was used through the 1800's, even probably by the British Army as they retreated from their defeat at the Battle of Monmouth.
Sorry Folks this is a Virtual cache nothing to take here but pictures, but what a view from this area! To prove that you were there e-mail me with the number of pipes sticking out of the wall. Don't post your answer here, even if encrypted.
Rated a two because I'll let you find your way through the twisty roads that seem to go in circles. The road that it is on is closed about half way down so make sure you are on the correct side of the closed part of the road. I don't know why it is closed...they always said one of the houses would come down the hill and maybe one did.
The steps to this historical site are located within sight of one of the ROAD CLOSED signs. If you get within .1 miles of the site park your car and walk. There are many blind curves so be safe when you park your car and put on your parking brake!
Enjoy the sights and on your way to or from stop by the senic overlook to get a great view of NYC. Also visit the number of traditional caches that are within 3 miles of here.
