Well, it's December 21, 2011, or close to it when this cache was created. That means that there is just one more year before the ending of the world!!
Supposedly on December 21, 2012, all the planets in the solar system are to be in alignment. This momentous event supposedly only happens once every 5000 years or so. What does that mean?? Will the Earth explode? Will the Sun super-nova? Will the Earth stop spinning on its axis and everyone/thing goes floating off into space? Will aliens arrive from outer-space and make contact with us earthlings? Will there be a great flood? Will there be a Zombie Apocalypse? Will the secret and mysterious chamber be found in the front right foot of the Sphinx in Egypt and the world will have elightment and love bestowed on humanity? Who knows???
There are prophecies concerning the ending of the world on December 21, 2012. The most recent and popular concerns the Mayan Calender. Apparently the Mayans were masters in astronomy and had a calender chronicling important events throughout their history and future events. Apparently, the Mayan Calender is one of the most accurate ever in human history and their prophecies almost always come true. The Mayan Calender just happens to end on December 21, 2012, the Winter Solstice.
There are documentary shows on the History channel, Learning Channel, Sci-Fi Channel, and others all concerned with the date of December 21, 2012 and the possible events to come.
Nostradamus predicts that the world will come to an end sometime in the year 3797. We all know that Nostradamus is never wrong. The Hopi Indians of the American Southwest also have their own prediction for the ending of the world sometime in the future. So who do we trust and believe in??
All this kind of reminds me of Y2K - remember that?? The world was supposed to end on December 31, 1999. Everyone was all scared and worried. The computers and other technology was to completely crash and throw humanity into chaos. When January 01, 2000, became a reality, NOTHING happened! Also, since there was no year 0 (zero) in the Bible, that was another reason for the world to end. Still nothing. Talk about a big let-down. All that hype and the world did not end. Bummer!!!
This geocache is placed in HONOR of this momentous event in human history. Will anything happen on December 21, 2012?? Stick around and find out!! Remember, you only have one more year of geocaching before it is all over. If you only search for one geocache the next year, let this be that one cache!! If the world still exists after December 21, 2012, I'll propably dismantle this cache in yet another bitter disappointment.
Cache is placed just off of KS Hwy 57 in the Junction City, KS, area. There is amble space to pull off the side of the road. The rest of the adventure is up to you.

Cache was placed in December 2011. There was no signs of any PI, ticks, critters, snakes, etc. That may very well change in warmer weather. Also, beware of any falling rocks and I suggest wearing good sturdy shoes when searching for this cache.
BEWARE: area may pose problems with whatever electronic-type devices that you may use mainly due to overhead cover, the rocks in general, and whatever other reasons there may be - you have been warned!!
Be prepared for an adventure and a search!!
Whenever I visit this site, it usually takes me a good amount of time to find this thing as well, so do not feel too bad.
Cache that you will be searching for is an old style US Army 1st AID KIT.
