Veteran's Park NIGHT CACHE Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

dawg_cacher: I think the final location has too high of a potential "muggle accidentally finding the cache when their disc lands by it factor" so I am archiving this one and I will be redoing this cache completely which will hopefully provide everyone with a new night cache to do soon. Thanks to all that have searched for this one.

Geocache Description:

We have been caching for about a year now and the ones we like the best are definitely night caches, they are alot of fun for many reasons and our area has so few of them i wanted to add something everyone could enjoy. This is the first "night cache" in Tupelo MS. The cache is located somewhere on the disc golf course at Veterans Park. The terrain is somewhat challenging but not that bad in general, the entire hunt should take you 15 - 20 minutes tops I would think.

The coordinates on the cache page will take you to a parking lot that you will be able to walk to the start from and then when you finish you will be very close to your vehicle. You are looking for the sand/beach volleyball court as your starting point and from there you will break out the flashlights and start hunting tacks(coordinates are listed below as a waypoint). You are looking for reflective tacks in the trees scattered around the disc golf course. You will need a good flashlight and I always think its best to do these with a partner...you never know what challenges could come your way in the woods at night. If you have never done a night cache I hope this will get you hooked on them, its not hard and not easy I believe. There are 21 sets of tacks out there to find and each "set" should be 2 tacks on a tree about head height. Some are close to each other and a few you might have to hunt for a second to find. You will know you have reached the next to last set of tacks (if you lose count during your hunt) when you come to 3 white tacks on a tree. From the set of 3 you will then scan the woods for something that will obviously tell you where the cache is located. The cache is a medium sized lock-n-lock that has 2 TB's (one of them is our very first TB we are releasing and its a MSU and Ole Miss TB we made up in honor of our caching name and then a multiswitch TB we are moving along), a Smithsonian collectable coin, a good luck coin, and a log to sign. Good luck and happy hunting, please feel free to make comments as to what you think of the cache as I tried to make it a good one but I am always open to suggestions.
