Geocache Description:

Travelers Peak in the Anza-Borrego desert

Travelers Peak is in the northern Anza-Borrego desert state park of California. Peak overlooks a spectacular desert landscape including parts of the Coachella Valley, Imperial Valley, Salton Sea, and even into Mexico. There is a "desert peaks" register at the summit with entries going back quite a few years. Can see about 10 other desert cache locations from the summit!

The hike to the summit is strenuous and steep. Definitely a 5-star hike. No technical climbing is required. Just be careful. This is the desert. A little mistake, especially in hot weather, can be fatal. I approached the summit from the south-west ridge parking along S-22. Please sign the logbook at the summit, put down your address as www.geocaching.com to verify that you were there.

I have pictures and a bit more description on my website here.
