Welcome to Chestnut Delight!
Children will enjoy this short walk. You will be rewarded with a
view of rolling hills. You'll be able to spy the Davis Branch
Stream as well as Montjoy Barn. Please say, "Hi" to Puxatawney Phil
as you hike towards the geocache and beware of groundhog
holes.
You'll find yourself in a test plot of Chestnut trees. Years ago,
Maryland forests were dominated by Chestnut trees. The Conservancy
is hosting the plot with the possibility of incorporating these
important trees into future education programs.
