Geocache Description:

Historical location in Lynn woods reservation. Bit of a hike but the paths are very easy to follow. Be careful on the stone steps, if wet they can be a bit tricky. You can Goggle "Dungeon Rock Lynn Woods" to find out more about it before you go.

This cache is dedicated to my father who wrote a book about the location and the history of the site. Dungeon Rock is a famous location once used by a retired pirate, Thomas Veal, who was killed in an earthquake. Later a man named Hiram Marble tried to find treasure by digging through the back of the rock using spirit guides to tell him in which direction to dig.
The cache has a copy of my father's book inside for the first to find. If you go to the site between tuesday and saturday between early spring and late fall the door should be open to enter the cave. The entrance is locked at sunset. You can go to the lynn woods reservation website to read a bit about the site and history. Bring a flashlight and a good pair of boots if you want to enter the cave. The cache is NOT in the cave.
