of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier
Pioneers.

”Spies Like Us "
Welcome to the Round Hill Cemetery, Perry
Township, Marion Co, south side of Indianapolis off of SR 135. This
is largely a modern cemetery but has many pioneer graves in the
southwestern corner. There are two Revolutionary War Veterans
buried here.

This is the grave of Edward Hall who served as a
Ranger in the Virginia Militia. He enlisted while a resident of
Greenbrier Co., VA. During the spring and summer of 1776 he was on
guard duty at FT JARRETT. During 1777, 1778, and 1779, he served 24
months as a Spy and Ranger under Capts. John VANBIBER and James
GRAHAM and Col DONALLY in the VA Troops guarding the
frontier.

This is the grave of Seargant John George. He
enlisted at Raritan, New Jersey in Jan 1777 and served 3 yrs as
private in Capt John FLAHAVEN'S Co., Col Mathias OGDENS, 1st
Battalion NJ Cont. Line. Participated in the Battles of Brandywine,
Germantown and Monmouth. Enlisted Jan 1, 1780 served as sergeant in
Capt Aaron OGDEN'S Co., Col Matthias OGDENS, 1st Batt. New Jersy
Line and was present at the capture of Cornwallis. He was
discharged at New Windsor, New York June 1783.
The cache container is is a decon container. Please leave
it at least as well concealed, if not better, than you found it. If
you find fallen or worn US flags at the graves of veterans, please
take a moment to upright or replace them. Dispose of worn US flags
in a respectable manner. If you find the coordinates
to be a little off, do not hesitate to post a waypoint with your
log. As always, be respectful, and cache in, trash
out.
