A little known bit of history is that ancestors of
Mr and Mrs TiedyeSmileys had a homestead on the cliffs on this
prime piece of real estate.

After nearly being blown away by cyclone Cachey, they moved their
homestead back into the jungle where it remains to this day.
A short stroll along the bike path will take you to the closest
entrance way to this historic site.
The
gates to the end bit of East Point are closed between 11pm and 5
am
