Geocache Description:

The cache container is a small bison tube. Bring a writing tool to sign the log. Use the parking coordinates below for the easiest approach to the cache.

Logging operations in Alameda Park have destroyed the Elves former home(tree). They have moved to a new secluded home in Deshon Woods. To get to their new home you will have to walk approximately 1000 ft along a level trail through the woods. Use the parking coordinates and trailhead waypoint below for the easiest approach to the cache.

The Elves are a community of elfin creatures living in the Hollow Tree Bakery. Their chief spokesman is "Ernie the Elf." Other elves include Fryer Tuck, Zoot, J.J., Ma, Ernie's mother; Elmer, Baker in training; Buckets, who splashes fudge on cookies; Fast Eddie, the cookie and cracker wrapper; Sam, the peanut butter maker; Roger, the cookie jeweler; Doc, Zack, the fudge shop foreman; Flo, the Tree Accountant; Leonardo, the artist; and Professor, Edison, Larry and Art.

Ernie and his fellow elves were created in 1968 by a Chicago based advertising firm and since then have become pop culture icons.
