Haka Game Park, about 12 kilometres from Harare city centre, incorporates 25 square kilometres of land in which are found Cleveland Dam, plus a vitally important wetland, catchment area for the Mukuvisi River, and some beautiful swathes of indigenous woodland and savannah.
Haka Game Park includes a number of rocky outcrops (kopjes), at three of which are located excellent San rock art sites. One of these is to be found about 20 metres from the cache. 270 species of bird and a good assortment of plains game species can be enjoyed in this park, including wildebeest, giraffe, impala, eland, zebra, jackal, civet, bushpig, genet, duiker, mongoose and vervet monkeys. A small entry fee is charged per person, currently $5, and if you would like to drive, an entry fee per vehicle of currently $4. Walking, running, mountain biking, horse-riding, picnicking and driving all allowed. This is a traditional cache in a clear plastic container, with logbook, pencil and pen, and some trinkets for swap-out.
