The Uniondale Jewish Congregation dates back to 1902 and had a functioning congregation up until around 1976 when the SAJBD became Trustees of the Uniondale Hebrew Congregation. In 1978 this property was transferred to the Local Municipality with the condition "That the buildings on the property shall not be used for religious purposes."
The little shul (school) is the building at the back of the property was built in 1906.
