We had the chance to visit Cozumel by ship twice in the last two weeks. We rented a car and enjoyed the caches on the island. We decided to place our own cache with the help of two locals Nego and Alex who will maintain the cache. We enjoy a local beach club where Nego and Alex work. It is a good place to spend the day with friendly fun loving staff and guests. You can eat, drink, bring your laptop and use wifi for free, swim, parasail, snorkel, get a massage, and enjoy the beach and water trampoline. You can reach the club by taxi from downtown for approx $15 in each direction for four people or if you plan in advance like we did you can rent a small car on line for a very attractive price on line. After you find the cache make sure to tell the management why your there. Subsequent to the creation of the cache, both Nego and Alex our, former caretakers, have moved on, but any of the present staff of waiters will be happy to help you if you have any problems.
The cache is a small plastic lock n lock box. And it is approximately 3 feet above the floor. The initial contents were a golf tee, smiley magnet, die, rubber spider, flag tie tack, CMU pin, 2 pig rings, and 9 foreign coins.
