Geocache Description:

This should be an easy find once you get to the fishing spot past the swimming area.

The cache itself is a Tupperware container with a log book, pen and room enough for swag and TBs. It’s under a rock and Lauhala leaves so beware of thorns.

This is one my favorite fishing spots on the Hilo side. I absolutely love the Popa’a (Rockfish) that I catch from the area near the cache. My Ohana loves to come down here to Holoholo for Fish, Opihi, Kupe’e and Ha’uke’uke. During the months of September thru December, this is the perfect place to get Lobsters with my geocaching friend Harmony_Jewel’s.

When the fruits on the nearby Lauhala trees are ripe and yellow, it’s a sign that the Ha’uke’uke (Shingle Urchins) are sweet and ready to pick.
