Local legend has it that the original Oak tree on this junction was used as a hanging tree. Nowadays all that is left is a stump and a new tree planted 25 years ago.

People say it was used for the gruesome practice of Gibbeting back in the 18th century where the dead bodies of executed criminals were hung on display to deter other existing or potential criminals.
Who knows what souls linger at this spot?
Nowadays this is a busy junction so please take care.
