Geocache Description:

A bit off the trail. A quick bike or hike from the nearby parking area.

Sukeji "George" Morikami (11/7/1886-2/29/1976) born in Kyoto Japan was one of Florida's earliest Japanese settlers. Starting out a poor Japanese immigrant he later transformed himself into one of south Florida's most generous millionaires.

George, broken-hearted, knowing no English and with no money moved to the Yamato ("Japan") farming colony. Many years of hard work and reinvesting in his farm eventually led to success and George being known as "The Pineapple Pioneer".

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, The American Orchid Society Visitor Center, and the Biwa Pavilion are all located in Morikami Park on land donated by Sukeji "George" Morikami.

Please return the cache to the place you found it. No part of the cache should be visible without a search.
