How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

In theory an easy peasy cache in a tree crotch kind of gig, but there's a catch -- the kids are ON to us. Be wary of young muggles out to catch you in the act. They KNOW the tell tale signs of a geocacher. Please keep covered in natural camo.

I was out holiday shopping and I ran by this park, bereft of a hide and I recalled how hard it seemed to be to keep a cache going here. Walking about and checking out the scene (okay, I was trying to use the restrooms, which are closed during winter months, BTW), I was beset by a gaggle of kids who directly asked me if I was geocaching. After finding that they knew exactly what the game is and that they were well aware of the previous caches, I asked them if a new cache would last in this park. Warily, without making any firm or binding commitments, they said that such a thing was possible. I swore them to it's eternal protection, but I didn't have my sword or official emblem to really add much pomp or circumstance to the moment. Anyhow, we'll see how this latest version goes.

I came back and hid the cache when they'd gone, so the kids don't yet know where the current cache is. Be stealthy and please respect dawn to dusk hours if you can. Cache is right within site of several neighboring homes, so you do risk being easily spotted.

And, if the kids get it...you have my permission to replace it if I don't get there soon enough for you. That'll teach 'em to mess with geocachers!
