I went for a drive with the munchkins and put them to work
helping me pick spots for some geocaches. If you like it, it was
all my idea. If you don't like it, I'll blame them. :D
The cache is not at the posted coordinates! You must first solve
the Sudoku and then do a little math.
Once you've solved the Sudoku, treat each line of your
red-shaded answers as if it were a multi-digit number, so you'll
have a 6-digit number, a 5-digit number, a 4-digit number, and a
2-digit number. Add these 4 numbers together, and call the answer
A.
Now, take all of your EVEN green-shaded answers and multiply
them all together except for the last one. You should get an
8-digit number, which we will call B.
Now (this is the easiest bit), take all the given numbers in
green boxes and line them all up in order (top to bottom, left to
right) to make a 7-digit number. This is C.
B-A=D
D
- = E
C
Round E to two decimal places, and then erase the decimal point,
it's not needed. (You will now have a 4-digit number.)
Subtract your adjusted E from the original North coordinates,
and add the adjusted E to the original West coordinates to find the
cache!
The posted difficulty is for the puzzle, the cache's difficulty
is more like a 1.5.
