There's something I'm supposed to do today. Can't seem to remember...

Back in February 2008, I stumbled on geocaching when looking for the best place to park for a hike I wanted to do with my daughter. Found a big ammo box and was hooked. Six days later, we were in Florida for a wedding, and I was so frustrated at not finding #2 that I exasperatedly rested my hand on the hinge of the front door of the bar near where the cache was supposedly placed. Something moved. It was my first experience with the now familiar mag-nano. What a diversity in just the first two hunts/finds. Coming back home to Davis, I was jonesing to try this whole geocaching thing again, so a week later, I went in search of Find #3, Losing Yamar's Marbles. Fun! I thought nothing of it then, but Find #3 gave me one on February 29. These days, I go a lot more often than once a week; in fact, it looks like I'll complete the goal of finding a cache on each calendar day of the year. This event will mark the last of the 366 days on my geocalendar, get us all together to talk caching, give us a chance to trade bugs and coins, and yield some good photos too!

From talking with other cachers, it sounds like lots of folks are pursuing the challenge of finding a geocache on each date of the year. There's even a Team Psychopuppy event on February 29 that references the challenge.

Pizza time! Come to Davis, meet other geocachers, and let us know what challenge cache you're working to complete. Or recently completed. If you want to eat, great. If not, that is ok too. Either way, come out and join the fun. I'll be heading to Monterey then San Antonio a few days after the event, so if you have a trackable that needs to head to either spot, bring it.
