Wezel obronny Ruciane-Guzianka byl elementem pasa umocnien, który Niemcy zaczeli budowac jeszcze w drugiej polowie XIX wieku. Najbardziej znana i najlepiej zachowany ich element to Twierdza Boyen w Gizycku. Wezel obronny Ruciane - Guzianka zaczeto budowac dopiero w 1898 roku. Dzieki temu Niemcy rozbili oddzielnie oba rosyjskie zgrupowania. W 1945 roku, juz po zakonczeniu walk, Rosjanie wysadzili czesc bunkrów i umocnien. Do naszych czasów dotrwaly dwa bunkry. Pierwszy stoi przy wjezdzie do Rucianego od strony Pisza, tuz przy moscie. Drugi przy sluzie Guzianka.
