Quick roadside cache. BYOP.
I was investigating a site for a different cache when Chicken Dave invited me to place it here instead. There is a posted sign near the cache, but I have permission to place it here. There is no need to cross the fence or to search far from the road.
The original house on this site was an early experiment in passive solar heating. One side of the house was built higher than the other so that the sun hit the windows on the southern exposure to warm the house. Unfortunately, it worked too well in the summertime, making the house like an oven. Also, the older windows leaked cold air, especially if there was a wind from the south. Eventually, the house was torn down and the current home built.
The same original owner also constructed a miniature circus that he often took around the area and set up for others to share.
