Marshland Road has a bike path parallel to the road. The path stretches over 3 miles from Matthews to the Cross Island. With so much open space it was screaming for some caches to be hidden. I answered the call with a few along the route. If you have a bike or feel like going for a run, grab your GPS and head on over to Marshland.
This cache is named after an ancestor of mine who coincidentally fought during the Civil War on Hilton Head; we are both originally from New England. I don't know too much about Welbee, except that he was a Captain part of the New Hampshire 3rd Infantry. I believe he became sick here and then resigned back to New Hampshire.
If you are a history buff I would suggest you check out Hilton Head's role in the Civil War, by no means is it a big role, but it is home to the Civil War's largest naval invasion - just right off the coast in Port Royal Sound.
You will need to bring your own pen
Congratulations to Spacedogs4 for FTF!!!
