Du har fått i uppdrag att bära en balk från ditt rum till en kompis rum, men på vägen dit måste du först passera ett hörn i en korridor innan du kommer fram. Nu är frågan: Hur lång balk kan du egentligen få med dig utan att slå i väggarna?
Vi antager att balken inte har någon bredd utan bara en längd för enkelhetens skull och att vi bara jobbar i ett tvådimensionellt plan, så balken får inte ställas på höjden.

You have been given the task to carry a beam from your room to a friend’s room, but on the way there is a corner you have to pass. Now the question is: How tall can the beam be without touching the walls?
We assume that the beam has no width, only length to keep things simple, and the beam most be parallel to the floor at all times.

N får du av vinkeln x (i grader) där balken nästan nuddar båda väggarna.
E får du av längden på balken.

N is the angle x (in degrees) when the beam nearly touches both walls.
E is the length of the beam.
